Zespół szkół Mechanicznych Centrum Kształcenia Praktycznego No 2 im. Św. Józefa is the oldest vocational school in podlaskie region and one of the biggest in north-east Poland. We have educated students in technical and automotive fields since 1921.

Supplementary Technical College for Adults No 2


     Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych is a model vocational school in terms of quality of education, effective teaching techniques and introducing modern teaching programs. ISO 9001:2000 Certificate obtained in 2008 proves high quality of our educational and exam services. Our school prepares students for further education. We also provide them with necessary knowledge and skills required to start small businesses, seek work on the regional and European job markets. Our graduates receive a certificate in Polish and English confirming their professional qualifications, once they successfuly pass vocational school-leaving exam.

    Our educational offer is adjusted on a regular basis to follow the economic development, changes on the job market due to technological progress, and the needs of both Polish and foreign companies. New, attractive majors are introduced. Since 2003 ten new innovative teaching programs for mechanics technician and mechatronics technician trades have been implemented. (e.g. computer-aided design and manufacturing, computer-controlled machine tools operator, welding techniques, car diagnostics, auto-body repairs, car marketing, truck mechanic, CNC machine tools operator, mechatronics programmer). In September 2008 Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych CKP No 2 became a member of the Polish Network of Modular Training in the project "European Bank for the Development of Modular Curricula and Educational Technologies". In 2010 the school board approved six modular programs for basic vocational school as pedagogical innovations for car mechanic and electro-mechanic trades.

    It is a high level of education that allows our students to be successful in various tournaments, competitions and contests. In 2010 national ranking of secondary schools Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych placed 9 among vocational secondary schools in Poland and 125 among all secondary schools in Poland.

    We provide our students with modern teaching infrastructure constantly modernized in cooperation with many companies and institutions:

  • two buildings where the students have classes,
  • diagnostic station,
  • specialist labs in CKP 2,
  • hall,
  • foreign languages multimedia lab
  • four computer labs with Internet access,
  • sspecialist laboratories for mechatronics, electronics, car repair, technical classroom, car lab
  • boarding house with double - triple rooms,
  • multimedia lab, library,
  • gym, body-building gym, full size football and basketball pitch, track,
  • Driving School and place where you can improve your driving skills.

    Students can take part in many different activities to develop their hobbies and interests. Currently there are 23 groups of interest such as:

  • mechatronics, young inventor, young designer,
  • automotive, metalwork,
  • bilogy, physics, religious,
  • Red Cross, voluntary,
  • brass band, cabaret,
  • go cart,
  • sports: football, athletics, handball, volleyball, basketball, trathlon, speed skating, table tennis, futsal.

    School futsal team placed first in Licealiada tournament in podlaskie region in March 2010. First grade students (as well as everybody interested) are also guaranteed integration classes, socio-therapeutic activities, social support, personal contact with the psychologist. There is also a career center in our school.

    For many years we have maintained contacts with mechanic and automotive companies such as CSV , RYCAR, SCANIA, POZNAŃSKI AUTO, AUTO PODLASIE, TOP AUTO OPEL, TOYOTA, " CARCAL", " AUTO SERWIS WOJCIULA", " BLACHARSTWO- LAKIERNICTWO GOŁASZEWSKI", PROMOTECH, JAZON, TOOLCO, BISTAR, JR TECH.

    Improving quality of teaching, innovations and strengthening the European dimension are important aspects in vocational training. Since 2003 we have completed 24 projects with schools in Jena (Germany), Unicov and Boskovice (Czech Republic). In 2009 we started a three-year school partnership project "Renewable energy sources - friends of the environment" within Comenius Program. Students from Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, France and Poland take part in the project. In 2010/2011 Leonardo da Vinci Project is being carried out "New skills- new job opportunities on the European job market". Within this project our students take part in two-week practical training in German companies. Since September 2010 as a way to improve job opportunities for our students we have begun two extra curricular projects within Human Capital Operational Programme 2007-2013: Young enterpreneur- be enterpreneurial- make your own decisions" and "New language skills- new job opportunities".

    International exchange of students and teachers and participation in extra- curricular activities enable getting to know new technologies, gaining new experience, improving language skills and obtaining new employment prospects.
